Crazy Homeless Guy
I am sure others have different solutions, but my workflow consists of a directory on the server that has Windows shortcuts to all of my current projects, assets, and any other place I would want to go to when opening a file. This way I simply click on the project I want to work on, and it takes me directly there without navigating directories. After I set that up, I then went into Max and customized my user paths, and pointed the default Scenes directory at this directory on the server. I also pointed things like import, export, and render output to this directory with the Windows shortcuts. It makes a quick way for me to jump around to different projects and asset directories. If you use this method, you will want to disable project folders, otherwise Max will clutter your directories with a bunch of folders that you won't use, and that ill make it difficult to find the shortcuts. cgrant3d
Is there a way to add common/favourite folders to these dialogs? One of my all-time favorite workflow enhancements is "FolderGit" which adds right click folder shortcuts to any Windows file menu. We use it *all* the time and have it preset with all our active projects / commonly used library folders. Good stuff. http://rpmanager.com/FolderGit/foldergit.htm
