ktate403
I installed a trian of Max 2012, and had 2010 znd 2011 also installed. When 2012 initialized, I got this error message: The procedure entry point ?getApp-Hinst@ResourceManager@QEAAPEAUHINSTANCE_@@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library splash dll. and 3ds max 2012 I did a search and found that the fix for this was installing the latest 2010 fix and service pack--two items. I downloaded the .msp (?) files but could not install them as I did not know how to. I did another search to no avail --that I could find at the time. So, I uninstalled 2010 and 2011 and 2012 then reinstalled 2012. I still get the same error message. The reason why is that I have both 2010 and 2011 installed; but I uninstalled both since I couldn't do the update and fix to 2010 to remedy the situation. What have I missed here? What steps do I need to take? Thanks, Kathryn
Devin Johnston
You can't install the hot fix until Max 2012 has been fully installed. You probably have pieces of Max 2010, 2011 & 2012 still on your system so I'd uninstall all of them then delete the directories they created and run an registry cleaner to make sure everything is gone, then reinstall 2012 and the hot fix.
