Eric
I am wrapping up an animation for an architectural walk-thru of a restaurant. Here is an overview to help guide feedback. I have maybe a dozen cameras. The first half of those will fly through the space with daylight illumination settings. One camera will fly through a door to enter/exit the space so the doors are animated to open and close - the light is still set to daytime. One camera will fly through the space as the lighting changes from day to night.Another camera will fly through another door to exit the space - the light is set to nighttime. One or two other cameras will pan around the exterior with nighttime settingsI will be submitting the rendering to RenderRocket, and need to pre-calculate the lightng to eliminate the subtle banding I was getting I have not used the pre-calculated VRMAP feature of V-Ray before. Do I need to create a VRMAP for each camera? Or do I create maybe content-specific VRMAPS... One for the daylight cameras that fly around/through the spaceOne for the daylight camera that flys through the animated doorsOne for the nighttime camera that sees the transition from day to nightOne for the nighttime camera that flies through the exit doorOne for the other nighttime cameras that have consistent nighttime lightnig with no animated doors Which VRMAP method would I use? Multi-frame incremental? Thank you for your help.
Eric
I just noticed there is an option under the Irradiance Map rollout to use "Animation (prepass)". That looks like exactly what I need (based on my brief reading of the help file). However, I'm still not sure if I need multiple VRMAP files, or if one VRMAP file is capable of containing all the lighting information for all my cameras with animated objects and lighting changes. If anyone can offer any input, I would greatly appreciate it - I'm at the tail-end of a HUGE deadline...
Crazy Homeless Guy
I typically use 'Incremental add to current map,' and then create one map for each camera. There are other ways to do it, but this is tried and true.
