WIP: School building

Recommended Posts

Here's a project that I'm working on. I just need to render a "roof-off" view of this building. I think I will make the interior walls a bit shorter like 1/4 actual height and color the top of the walls to show a slice effect. Think that's a good idea or not? Any other ideas? BTW, as far as details go, I don't need to show furniture. The focus is on the building and the HVAC system (which I will add this weekend).

Thanks,

Is the court on the right for volleyball? It looks smaller in area than the others - if so, I'd change the court markings.

I love these types of renderings - very illustrative, informative about the plan for the building.

Great work - looks like an actual cut-away model.

Thanks for the comments and ideas. I'm coloring the floors to designate the three zones of the school. I'm going to wait on lowering the walls until I throw some color on the top part of the wall and see what it looks like.

@Allen - The small court shows up as a B-ball court on the CAD file, so that's what I'm leaving it as. You're right though, it is a good bit smaller than the other two. So hopefully the Architect didn't put the wrong label on it.

Small update. Added the three colors for the zones. I tried a red top on the walls to show the "cut away" look, but it looked horrible. So, I changed to black (good or bad choice?).

I guess I'll have to make 2 versions of the basketball court lines. One thick one for a full building render, and then the thin one for close ups. Because I can't seem to be able to render the thin lines at this distance.

I also forgot to increase my interior light since I made the floors a darker color, so it's a bit dark inside in this render.
