Vray 2.0 - any easier for animation?

Hi guys,

I use 3DS 2010 and just upgrades to Vray 2.0. Rendering animations was always overly complicated/error prone in 1.5 (saving out a light cache for the whole animation, generating a IR with just one PC using that light cache, and then rendering your frames using the IR map). There were too many steps and too many things to check/uncheck etc!

Has it been made any easier or any additions been made to help mitigate the difficulities with all this? I work almost exclusively with animations and anything that could make this process better would be fantastic.

Cheers

John

I would have to agree, there was a big push to upgarde and still is to Vray 2.0 I have to say i still use the same features day to day.

Am I alone ?

The new inter active render doesn't support all the features the old did.

I am open to correction on this .

As for sending animations. I typically keep 2 master files for each camera.

1) The first of the two is set up to render the light passes. It has all of the proper boxes checked or unchecked, etc...

2)The second of the two is set to read the saved light passes, render elements properly set, and file save location properly set.

Maybe this seems like overkill, but if you have 10+ cameras in a scene, it can quickly get confusing, or you can easily missing something when making adjustments.

At least this is the latest iteration of the way I work.
