havok3
Hello, I'm a FryRender user and I recently got a GTX580. So I wanted to get a render speed profit using ARION. But there's something strange when I use ARION : When I render a scene in FryRender, I get a correct result, but with the same scene configuration, I get something very different in ARION. There are screens of the scenes in Fry and ARION : Fry : http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/221/triovi.jpg/ ARION : http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/651/snapshot20110523202222.png/ The materials and light are exactly the same, and I use FRYRENDER physical camera, same ISO and gamma in both Fry and ARION. Can anyone help me ? Is there something in ARION I must change that I missed ? Thanks in advance. Edited May 23, 2011 by havok3
Crazy Homeless Guy
I don't know either of these engines, but this should come as no surprise.
RayOfLight
It almost looks like in Arion some extra lightsource is on. Is the environment and IBL setup identical to fryrender?
havok3
Yes, the lightning setup is identical. I just exported the render file to ARION (render from 3DSMAX to FryRender, and then in FryRender, I've exported it to a .rcs file). Then, I haven't modified anything in light nor materials. Does IBL stands for Image Base Lightning ? The ISO and Gamma setup ?
Fran
It looks like the physical sun is on in the Arion version and off in the fryrender version. Can you check that?
Tommy L
I don't know either of these engines, but this should come as no surprise. ARION is the GPU based version of Fry. So they should actually look the same. ish.

RayOfLight
my thought exactly Fran Happens more often in Arion ...
havok3
Yes, the Physical Lightning is unactive, in both renders. I alos unticked the Sun option in Arion, but doesn't change anything since the Physical Lightning is unactive.
Fran
Hi, I sent you a pm with my email address. I would like to test your scene to see what is going on.
havok3
Hello, sorry to reply this late, I sent you back a PM with a link to download the scene. Although this scene is different from the one I was talking about, the issues are identical. I sent a .rcs file, but do you prefer the .max one ? havok3
Hello back, Does anyone get the same problem as I described because I don't get why using ARION gives me a unaccurate light configuration. Everytime I am rendering a scene, there's a right result in FryRender, but it is always different in ARION, like the example I gave in the debut of the topic. I am using planes with light emitter materials and environement mapping for my scenes. Does this issues happens to anyone else, or do I get this because I arranged a bad light setup ? eungen
Arion v.1.0.1 does not recognize newer video cards, but version 1.5 can be used at maximum capacity and will use CUDA processors.
havok3
Hello and thank you for your answer. But when will the 1.5 be available ?
