ctk111
I have a number of objects that I have arrayed, but I want them to have a slight random shift so they're not perfectly aligned. This seams simple enough so I feel like I'm overlooking something. Any suggestions? Attached is an image of what I have so far.
Fran
Hi Chad, Have you tried Object Painter (Max 2011-2012)? You can use its Fill tool to array an object on selected edges of an editable poly. Here is an introduction on the Autodesk Youtube Channel:
Tommy L
This is a perfect application for 'Random Transform' (?) tool which is part of the Soulburn Scripts. You just pick your objects then key in your max/min values to shift and/or rotate in x/y/z (individually or in combo). Done!
ctk111
Great, thanks for the suggestions. I'll give them both a try.
Peter M. Gruhn
Tom stole my answer. Can't over-recommend Soulburn.
notamondayfan
http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/mass-randomizer this is probably the easiest, fastest and just best! I also like using it because Undo actually works, unlike a lot of other random scripts!!
