In max, ;) how can i do the ray kind of text effect...i tried it out and i get the effect but the problem is when i do this effect in a scene...i am not able to have other objects..say for eg...i have a text and rectangle and the volume cylindrical light in a scene..and i apply volume light(atmospheric parameters) to the main light and i have made the text (boolean)(cut)..from the rectangle shape....and when i move the light i get the ray kind of effect...but...when i place some other objects in the same scene...i am not able to get the effect(ray) in the scene..

i want to know......if i am doing this in a scene...only this two objects(light and text)should be in a scene or is there any way..that...i can place the other things in the scene...or is there any other 3d softwares which is more easy...for the light effect for the text...?

Hi Niru,

Can you post an image of what you'd like to accomplish, and one of the results you are getting? I'm having a hard time understanding what you want.

Thanks,

Hi...

thanks for ur reply...i have sent an attachement jpg file for reference...and in that file i have rendered a scene and in that scene i have placed a text and a rectangle(splines) and i made the rectangle (cut) from the text...got it...?

ie boolean(cut)

and i have placed the volume light on the back of that text and applied volume light effect(atmospheric parameters).so in that...i need to know...whether i can place some other objects also in that scene...?bec.. ihave extended the rectangle to the full scene....and if reduce the dimensions of that rectangle ..i am not able to get that ray effect...!!

if possible pls send some samples for this text effect.....i need to animate a text from one direction to the other direction...and i should not see the text in the scene ..and when the ray of light moves i should be able to read the text....hope u got it.......
