trackie23
I've run into a problem with one of my scenes where 3dsmax Design 2012 crashes every time I try and restore a scene state. I've tried resaving the file, clearing all my scene states and starting from scratch, and choosing less options to save. Every time I get an error saying "The program has encountered a problem and will now close". An older iteration of the scene seems to work fine, so I don't believe it's a problem with the program as a whole. Any have any ideas? Thanks in advance. datacrasher
in this situation i would start off with a fresh scene then start merging one object at a time if the first object go in fine and it does not crash keep merging the objects until you come to the last object if you merge the final object and it crashes then you know what the problem is now do the same but when you come to the final object don't merge it because it will crash. So save your new scene as a new file name and delete the old one Don't override. Also delete the old one in the document in the autoback file. All you have to do is remodel that old object that made max crash. Tony
trackie23
not a bad idea if the scene didn't have something like 500 objects with geometry brought in from sketch up haha....the scene itself in terms of geometry was basically finished, so I just decided to save a different max file for each final image which was basically just a change in lighting conditions.
