slawnick
I create stills with 3DS Max for an industrial designer, using Photoshop as the compositing tool. Lately they have been adding more special efx to the designs: fog, pyro, fire, lasers, etc. I've downloaded the combustion demo, but it seems so radically different from anything I have ever used before. My question is, are the benefits of combustion (integration with Max, and particle fx) really that great? I assume the learning curve is semi steep. Jim Mann
Try out the downloadable lesson on integration with Max. Then have a go at saving out some RPF files (make sure something in the scene is moving) with Z depth, velocity, material effects and the like and see what you think.
