Crazy Homeless Guy
We just upgraded to Photoshop 5.1, and I need to revert my EXR plugin back to the CS2 version so that EXR files behave properly for my workflow. I can not seem to locate where Adobe has placed the EXR plugin for 5.1. Anyone want to help a fellow Vizer out?
Matt McDonald
I have cs2 at home. I'll check the thread this evening and if no one has been able to get you the file, I'll send it to you.
Crazy Homeless Guy
I have the old plugin, but I can't seem to find where to put it. IN CS4 it was here... C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Plug-ins\File Formats But in CS5 that doesn't seem to work, nor does there seem to be the EXR plugin that is included with CS5. Matt McDonald
Oh! Sorry, I'm afraid that I can't help you there. We're still on CS4. Did you try doing a search on your system for *.8BI Maybe Adobe moved the folder? I dunno, I'm guessing.
Camby1298
For CS5 users, vintage (From CS2, CS4 etc) OpenEXR.8fi plug-in wont work anymore, instead download and install the new OpenEXR ALPHA.8fi from adobe: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/883/cpsid_88310.html Installation is easy as all you need to do is drop the ".8fi" to "...\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\File Formats", this will overwrite the typical way CS5 handles .exr's. You'll be able to bring in your ".exr"s without it being pre-mulitplied.
alias_marks
can't remember where, but there's a beta exr pro floating around somewhere that works with cs5 64 bit (*handy if you're used to using layered exr's) I found it in some random discussion thread online. Not sure the new OpenEXR Alpha supports the layers or not. Can't find it now, but will post up when I get back to work Monday.
