Devin Johnston
I'm working on an animation and I'm getting these red spots that are showing up mainly on this white feature wall but also to a lesser extent on a background wall. I've used these settings many times in the past with no problems although there is some noise but I'm Ok with that right now. The white wall has 2d Vray displacement on it with a resolution of 2500.The only time I've seen similar effects is when I've had a vraylightmaterial in the scene but I don't in this one. I'm also using a physical camera and vray sun and sky which is also normal and something I do in animations all the time. I can render this out using Brute Force and LC and the spots disappear but my render times explode. Here are my settings: AA -Adaptive DMC -Catmull-Rom -Min Sub: 1 -Max sub: 100 GI -IR -Medium animation -HSph: 30 -Interp. Samples: 150 -Mode Animation -LC -Subdivs: 2500 -Sample size: .02 -Mode: Flythrough -DMC Sampler -ADaptive amt: .85 -Noise Threshold: .01 -Miin Samples:
Matt McDonald
Devin I wish I can help you but I can't but I feel compelled to say that every time I logged in and saw "GI problem", I read it as "Gastrointestinal Problem" and had a laugh. Sorry it came at your expense. I hope you get it sorted out.
alsoukar
Not sure if this will help or not I get this light bleeds or glow when there is something wrong with the model not welded vertex or object got smooth tick in modifier tap Or face is facing other side Try normal modifier or add more segments or play with displacement setting it is not render error it more in the geometry calculation I hope this will help
John Dollus
if you are using vray 2.0, turning on the retrace option may get rid of it
Ricardo Eloy
if you are using vray 2.0, turning on the retrace option may get rid of it That or you could check if there's anything with no material assigned. VRay acts weird when an object (or a face) has no material.
notamondayfan
As said above check all materials are vray, a standard material can cause loads of bleeding. Also check models for holes and gaps. Also try rendering with no reflections and see if that's gets rid of the problem. I can't see turning on retrace making any difference as it's only really applicable on glossy surfaces, or refractive materials.
avvid
I know it sounds odd, but try ticking the "invisible" box in the sun's parameters. Or it could be inverted normals. If you're using Max 2010 or above, you could use xView to check for them. Edited July 2, 2011 by avvid
