Jim Mann
I am encountering a really stupid problem with Max. I am trying to exclude items from a lights. I pick the item from the scene objects list and click the button to put it into the include/exclude list but another item appears there instead. This only happens for certain items, but it is consistent in the alternatives it picks for each of them. I have also just realised that an earlier problem of objects not casting shadows must have been caused by the same problem, except that exclusions that had been working properly before, did not work today. The only major event has been the merging in of an x-ref'd file. Anybody else experienced this or had a similar problem to which they have a solution??? Thanks in advance Jim
Jim Mann
Resolved it. Just re-merged the elements again without going via x-ref and found some naming conflicts that hadn't shown up when originally merging the x-ref! Why do these problems always occur late at night? MegaPixel
Adding onto this topic if I may... When in sub-object mode for instance, when I am trying to select multiple faces without selecting what's behind them, I check the "Exclude Backfaces" option right? Why is it then that it still grabs faces behind what I am selecting? It's difficult enough managing selections in sub-object mode. ANy thoughts or is this a bug?
