The Miff
I'm rendering a structure with 9 materials. Each material is ID'd 1-9. I need to render out the ID image. The lighting cache phase works properly. The 5 pre-render phases work properly as well, but as soon as it hits the render phase, it halts. I get the Vray warning: VFBcore:: setregion - error writing region to raw image file. I can't figure this out, and no tutorials cover this. Any ideas? avvid
Hi. Is the target for your raw image file set correctly, and do you have enough space on the target drive?
The Miff
It's set correctly. I have 3 drives; C:, Software, and Projects. C: has 20 Gb available, while the other 2 have over 400 GB. I just tried setting the path to C:, in case it's an I/O issue. Still conks out. I also tried changing 8 materials to ID #0, so that just the glass renders as an ID. Still conks out. Any ideas? avvid
Hi. Well, I just did a Google search, and someone else said it was because there was already a file with that name, present. I think that's what he meant, anyway (http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=322&t=25337). I know you said you tried to set the path to C:, but, as you may know, Windows doesn't generally like files being written there. Try a simple, short path, that you're sure you have permissions on. Aside from that, have you checked RAM usage? Be aware that on a 32-bit system, no single process can use-up more than 1.5 GiB of RAM, so even if you're not using it all up, that could halt things. If you're saving irradiance map files and things like that, check those paths. Also, what happens if you assign everything a default V-Ray material?
