ktate403
How to select the select object tool and then change "the mode to Window"? Where do you change the mode and where is window? Kathryn
JonRashid
Not sure your question is clear. But Selection mode is 2nd and 3rd buttons to right of selct mode button. If you want to affect left/right crossing this option can be customised in scene selction part of preferences dialogue box. Just under half way down on LHS. ktate403
The tool is "Window/Crossing". So, is that the window mode button?
JonRashid
This allows you to select by either drawing a window around the objects the two options either select everything within the window or everything within and all that is touched by the window. ktate403
So, is Window/crossing rhe Window mode I need or is it some other button?
JonRashid
I do not know what you mean by window mode. If you tell me what you are trying to achieve maybe I can help further.
ktate403
Trying to attach two halves together. The book I am using mentions "window mode" a lot and I didn't know what that was. There is a section of the book I couldn't work thru as it wanted me to "make windows". This doesn't mean to make a window as we haven't learned that yet. I don't know what it means. I've conntated one of the authors and he said to press 'm', but 'm' brings up the Material Editor. So, I am lost with this window tool or mode. JonRashid
I am still not sure what this window mode will allow you to do. Why does it ask you to do this. I am not sure what it means by window mode. To select objects with a window you just draw rectangle with select tool to do this. The other window mode that I can think of is when you change max into a window which can be moved around the screen rather than working with max maximised. If it isn't either of those can you cut and paste a passage with the window mode in so I can read it in context.
