Hi everyone!!!

When I chamfer an edge of a edit poly appears a polygon in the hole.

I get solve it breaking the vertex and removing the vertex which are incorrect connected, but is a very hard task and takes a lot of time.

Anyone knows how can I avoid this problem from the begining??????

Thanks!!!!!!:)

It's the flow of your edges that is the problem, you need to continue the edge you want to chamfer in a way that will allow the chamfer to work correctly, in this case, I continued the edge over the top to create a loop, and then chamfered.

Hi Dean!!!!

I've tried to do what you have suggested, and this is the result.

If I don't remove the edges connected to the edge above, the chamfer is straight, not curve. I'm using 3ds Max 2011.

Thanks for your reply!!!!:)

Try and copy exactly what I have done, you have to chamfer the loop (all the connecting edges) to make it work. If you see the 2 shot on my example you can see the edges I have selected before I chamfer. Also note that the loop doesn't connect to the top left corner of my object, but instead loops over the top.

I hope that makes sense! :-)

Oooooooooooookay!!!!!!!

Thank you Dean!!!!!!!!!!

Now I know what I did wrongly.

I only selected the edge to chamfer, not the other two edges that make the loop.

Thank you man, you're the best!!!!!!!!
