understanding sections and elevations in project manager

Hi ,

 

I am a little confused. when I cut a section this is what I do.

 

I make a view out the constucts want to cut and i call this LV1 for instance,

then in the view Lv1 I draw my section line and then in the dialog box I specify "create new view". Then I am asked to click on the screen to place my section.... I see that the view LV1 has the section LINE I drew. This is ok.

 

This is were I get confused. When I open the new view of my section that I created (let's call it sec-view1) I see my section cut but also the contructs from LV1 view with a section "region" can i erase the infromation inported from LV1?

 

I noticed that if I make a change to the section line on LV1 (original view) no changes are made to my section view sec-view1... this is what really confuses me...... but if I make the change in the plan view inside my section drawing then the sections does update. My concern is that if I decide to mofify my section cut line, I have to modified twice and hope whatever change I made in sec-view1 matches LV1.... am I making sence?

 

I am having a very hard time with that.... and i need to understand this asap please help me. =) I am sure I am missing something on my steps.
