Partitioning a laptop's HDD

Hi all,

I just bought a laptop (Dell XPS 17 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit if it matters) and I only have one hard drive with one partition "C" on it. Of the 500GB I have 320GB left empty. I wanted to create another partition "D" on the hard drive where I can install Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit WITHOUT loosing ANY of the data currently installed on "C".

If I start resizing "C" (say with Partition Wizard Professional) in order to create "D" will "C" get formated?

Is there any way to get another partition and not loose any of the data?

Thanks a lot.
