john2000
Hi, I have a material somewhere in my scene that I need to get rid of. I can see it in the material browser but I don't know how to delete it from my scene. I am using 3ds max 2012. I need to get rid of it because vray is saying that this materials is not compatible and that it could cause problems which I am pretty sure is the cause of the issue that I am experiencing. It would even help to know what object I have applied this material to. Tried right clicking but no good. Thank you for your help Edited July 9, 2011 by john2000
da_ul
You can try the "Bitmap/Photometric Paths"-Button (You'll have to add it at the command-panel under Utilities/Configure Button Sets/) Ul
john2000
Yes, that is great and thanks for that information. My only problem now is that this material isn't showing in that list. I have ticked both Include mat. editor and Include Mat. Library I can see it in my scene materials folder in the mat. browser. It is an Architectural material that isn't compatible with vray. any ideas?
da_ul
Ok, right, the "bitmap/photometric path editor" is only showing maps, not the shader. Maybe it's just the shader in the material-browser that is causing the problem, try to reset the material editor with "reset material editor slots". If this is also not working, go the hard way and try to overwrite every material with a standard material to see, if the problem it gone. If it's gone undo it and try with the half of the objects, and so on... Uli
