Greg Law
I bought some Dosch design cars for 3dsmax the other day expecting to be able to import them straight into my projects. What I got was untextured models with the body needing smoothing. Is this normal for them or have I missed doing something? I have tried to contact them about it, but haven't heard back. Thablanch
Usually textures comes with it when you buy pre-made collections.. Was the map folder accessible? Was it the good rendering engine? ( eg: you bought cars for Vray and using MentalRay as a renderer)
Devin Johnston
I've purchased 4 or 5 of their car libraries and even when I get the libraries made specifically for Vray I always have to go in and redo the materials. Some of their libraries have the cars separated into their component pieces but others have the car as a single mesh. Once I go through and set each car up I'm happy with the quality but it does take some work to get them there.
Greg Law
Thanks for the info. Now I know what needs to be done. I have both 3dsmax and Vray versions. I have only checked the 3dsmax in metal ray at the moment. I'm still learning Vray so held off checking them. But I will do this tonight. My biggest concern was the smoothing. I just added a smothing modifier to the body and it seemed OK, but I'm not 100% sure if it did it right for the overall body form.
