watersage
Just wondering if the new release includes any of the tools that are MeshSurgery Plugin. Thanks
Mike Abbott
There are new tools in R9 that are based on those in MS, but MS hasn't been bought-out by Maxon or anything. I understand that MS still has a few tools that aren't in R9. MS are also working on an update to make MS R9 compatable. You can download a R9 demo from Maxon. Mike A. watersage
Hi Mike, thanks a lot. Do you happen to know which tools are similar. I would download the demo, but I have a very slow dialup connection - would take about a week.... I havent used MS either (much) but it gets great reviews. I wouldn't be interested in using it either if most of the useful functionality is in V9 Cinema and therefore supported by Maxon. Many thanks
Ernest Burden III
I would download the demo, but I have a very slow dialup connection - would take about a week.... Perhaps a friend has a cable line and can DL it for you, put it on a CD?
Frosty
or a cafe or library oh and in regards to MS.... I love a few tools in there, in fact I NEED them. Point level normal move, slide, scalpel, jigsaw and the face axis tool (used in conjunction with axis tools and booleans, you can do a section at any angle) The one additon I would love for MS would be a numeric transformation ie. slide 10cm
Mike Abbott
Hi Mike, thanks a lot. Do you happen to know which tools are similar. I don't I'm afraid - I don't use MS myself, just reporting what I know from info gathered in the last few days. I usually model 90%+ in FormZ, but the improvements in Cinema R9 could well encourage me to do more modelling there. It's certainly worth checking out the demo if you can get one somehow. Mike A.
