Rich O
Anyone have any ideas? Architect I'm going to be working with does his modelling in Autocad, I do my rendering in Maya/Vray Not interested in materials or anything, just geometry. Dealing with AutoCAD Architecture 2012. Any ideas? Edited July 19, 2011 by Richard7666
Justin Hunt
I dont use maya, but off the top of my head I'd say .fbx exported out of Acad should be your best choice. jhv
Rich O
Can Autocad export fbx natively? Looking at the options at the architects', I didn't see it in the export dialogue.
Justin Hunt
I know Architecture has FBX, and it would be under "Save As". It seems Acad doesn't have FBX sorry.
Rich O
edit: found the option to export to fbx, but it won't let me. Something about it needing thickness, even though it appears to be a 3d model. All I want to do is export the geometry, in pieces, so I can import it in another 3d app. Seems there are many ways to do things in Autocad : / Edited July 19, 2011 by Richard7666
