RPC for Cinema 4D

Archvision anounced the release of their RPC plugin being available with version 9 of cinema 4D

As usual they won't be supporting the Mac platform.

As usual, they are working on an apple API, and its near finished...

I asked them not 6 weeks ago if they were looking to make a plugin for CD4.......they said " nothing in the wind at all for CD4 at this time" gee go figure.

i saw the animated preview a few weeks back. must admit it didnt look too impressive from what i saw. lets wait and see.

 

btw, where is it announced, because i cant find any reference to rpc/c4d on their site?

There is a bit about RPC on the PDF about r9 but not much. I saw an presentation on a demo CD about 2 months ago and quite excited by it, but I was told that Archivision were having problems transporting it over to the Mac. But I guess they must have solved it as they are announcing it, although there is no RPC in the demo.

Wait and see.

That's because they have a very old dusty iMac in in a dark corner and developing for a Mac is a low priority for them. It's a business decision for them so I don't necessarily blame them. However, the Macintosh chunk of the market share is still a sizeable dollar amount. It's just a question of investment and potential return. I'm sure they've done their market research.

 

But I guess they must have solved it as they are announcing it, although there is no RPC in the demo.

Wait and see.

Maxon shows RPC as a file format on the R9 Highlights tour. (See attached) As you can see it's only available for Windows at the moment. I'll believe it when I see it. "My name is Thomas after all".
