ktate403
PLEASE SEE SCREENSHOT How do I get axis constraints to show up (upper right side of screenshot)? When I turn on Selection Lock, what is happening? How do I get a doorjam to snap onto the door casing, in other words? I have a book that doesn't go into much. Grateful
Stephen Thomas
Just right-click on an empty part of the toolbar. A menu should appear where you can turn on axis constraints.
ktate403
Thanks. How do I "snap " one rectangle into another? (That is what this is about).
Stephen Thomas
On the top toolbar there is an icon which says 2.5 with a magnet beside it. Turn this on to enable snaps (or hit S on the keyboard). Use 2.5d snaps when in top or side orthographic views and 3d snaps when in perspective view. If you right click on the button you can set which types of snaps are enabled. ktate403
This is suppose to work by just locking the rectangle to do the snapping. The lock is at the end of the interface, and in the middle. It can be accessed by hitting the spacebar.
Stephen Thomas
That just locks your selection to the selected object. I have never used or needed that tool to be honest. You can skip that step of the process, the snap will do what you need.
ktate403
OK, great. Thanks. I'll do snaps. Kathryn
