Vray rendering white washed

Hello people,

I'm having a strange problem in here. I've done an interior scene of a store, worked out modelling, texturing, lightning and the materials, so the render goes just fine, when it ends, the image i see is almost the way i want (chegk image below).

The problem is, after saved, no matter which extension i choose, the result looks like this

I tryed with other scenes and all the results look the same, what in heaven can be the problem? I'm using all the settings i've used for some time, and back then, results were just like in render window.

I'm using Vray 2.0 and MAX 2012, with these settings ( donwload here the render preset).

I really need this help, because right now i'm working this image in PS trying to fix it, so my work is going to take a LOT longer to complete!

PS.: I got this error message in VRay "warning: Subpixel color mapping is on: rendered result may have incorrect brightness" and i tried to disable subpixel, changed the color mapping type both with no luck.

I've already tried to change gama in VRay > Color Correction and the result was the same. I mean, the final result should be exactly the same as shown in the renderer window right?

When i change gamma in vray, only the rendered window changes, but the saved image keeps showing the way i posted.

I've always worked with other versions of MAX and VRay and never have seen this.

It's a gamma issue. This is the your Gamma/LUT set up in max, NOT your Vray render settings. There are two vastly different gamma settings you need to make sure you are using. Another poster mentioned where you need to check these as well.

If you save to a 32-bit image, you can correct this in Photoshop by applying an inverted gamma curve, a gamma value of around .454 is the inverse of gamma 2.2. If you try this with anything other than a 32-bit image, you'll see severe color banding.

Also, make sure if you are in linear space that your SRGB button in the Vray frame buffer is checked. This could also be leading to the discrepancies between what is displayed and what is saved. I noticed in your images, SRGB is not on.

Thanks to you all guys!

Now i saw what people were talking about, i was checking only VRay settings for gamma, now i saw the MAX settings.

Also, i'll chegk the sRGB thing, thanks for the advice!

Thanks a lot!

It's just weird, since i was using max 2010 ans never saw this kind of rblem, guess is a version tweak of 2012.

Thanks again guys, you rock!
