schultecg
Hi guys ") I'm in the market for a new workstation that will revolve around Photoshop, Max, Revit, Autocad, Sketchup and Maya (latest versions of each). I have the intention of building this myself with parts from newegg, however beside watching endless hours of how-to videos I have 0 experience in the actual process. After referencing 3datstech.com I have put together a list of parts that hopefully will work well together. Please take a look and any suggestions/comments or compatibility issues would be greatly appreciated. - Sony Optiarc CD/DVD Burner Black SATA Model AD-7261S-0B LightScribe Support - OEM - Thermaltake V9 BlacX Flex Edition VN500M1W2N Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive - LG E2370V-BF Black 23" IPS Panel Full HD HDMI LED BackLight LCD Monitor - Linksys WMP600N PCI Wireless Adapter with Dual-Band - DIAMOND 6970PE52G Radeon HD 6970 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity - CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 750W ATX12V v2.31/ EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC High Performance Power ... - CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory - MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor - Crucial RealSSD C300 CTFDDAC128MAG-1G1 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) - Windows 7 64 bit Will all these components come with the required cables? and are there any other extra things I need to purchase to piece all this together? branskyj
Looks really good, man. Although if money is not that much of an issue I would choose a larger screen ( 27" maybe) or at least buy a spare one (not necessary an IPS) for a dual screen set-up. You will be amazed how much more work you can get done that way. Everything else looks really good. P.S. If you plan on using CUDA enabled software go with NVidia, not ATI. Even VRay RT (GPU)runs better on NVidia for now. Good luck.
beestee
All the cables you need should come with the power supply, motherboard, monitor, and video card. The price RAM is at right now, I would recommend finding a 16GB kit. I have that exact motherboard in an i3 build I did and I love it.
Tommy L
Also buy some arctic silver thermal paste, rubbing alcohol and a magnetic screwdriver. And some small cable ties. Edited November 8, 2011 by Tommy L
Slinger
Hi guys ") Will all these components come with the required cables? and are there any other extra things I need to purchase to piece all this together? You will need to purchase some. Why are you specing a dual band wireless card? Do you want to do wireless for sure? Only other thing I see missing is a computer case, mouse and keyboard. As for putting it together, it is not difficult. The first time I ever did it, I read through the motherboard manual and the computer case manual, then I began putting parts together. I will tell you this...mount your processor and processor cooler to the motherboard before you install the motherboard into the computer case. Giid luck and have fun doing it. Take your time. Don't rush. Oh, and get a static free wristband: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16899261005 It sounds stupid but I know people who have 'bricked' new components from static electricity buildup.
