danb4026
After I import linework (highrise, single elevation for example) into Max 2012, everthing really slows down. If I move the linework, it bogs. If I select the linework, it bogs. Is this a problem with simply working with splines in the viewport or is it related to something having to do with the import? PS....even worse, sometimes it just doesn't bog down, it crashes. Edited July 28, 2011 by danb4026
ihabkal
max has a hard time dealing with too many 2D objects, you might want to slim down the imported file, delete whatever you don't need.
danb4026
Ihab, thanks. I have already trimmed down all the unnecessary linework. Once I convert spline elements into poly's or do an extrude, it starts to work fine. But up until I get all linework converted, its a real drag. A.Mitov
Sometimes round objects are not arcs but polylines. You should watch out for those because it may slow the system down considerably. pfbreton
Can you try with the Direct X display mode and tell us if things improved? The default Nitrous display driver may be the cause here. Try it we will find out!
