Client is a friend of mine which affords quite some artistic freedom. Grass is multiscatter (just two blades scattered 30million times). All trees are 3d (Onyx). Plinths are not yet designed (so have no material) Oh, I need to build hedges in between the houses. Any advice> Ive never done a decent hedge! Feedback much appreciated. Thanks, Tom. jinsley
I think this is a great start, I really like the colours and view, but I think that the image is over run by grass... maybe moving the camera a little skyward would help a little or cropping the bottom up a bit. I also feel like maybe a little wider frame might help... allow a little more breathing room for the houses and provide a little more context. Gary Ledgerwood
This is a definitely a great start. I do agree with James about the sea of grass. It could also use some variation. Same goes for the brick texture. It looks a little too uniform for a residential application and more suited to an office building or something. Check out the Redland masonry designer for some cool, high res brick textures. http://www.redlandbrick.com/masonry_designer.asp Is the white portion of the houses stucco? I would consider adding some texture to that surface. It is a bit too uniform. And finally, the vignetting seems a little heavy. Probably because I am not a huge fan in the first place. ) The trees look amazing. Does'nt Oynx have similar looking shrubbery as well to help with your hedges? I have only used X-Frog. http://xfrog.com/product/X-60.html
Jonathan
For me,the framing isnt quite right. I'd like to see more of the building on the right to bring a sense of finality to the image even if this was just some architectural element that allows the viewer to percieve what is going on outside the picture. neil poppleton
Eyup Tom, Not sure the composition works. Maybe post a few different angles. Not sur the DoF is working for me either.
Shaun Hamm
I agree with James as well. Definitely remove the bottom 20% of the foreground grass and give the sky more presence.
