AJLynn
No, but that's an old model. AJLynn
The 6000 series are newest, then the 5000, then the 4000. The updates from the 4000's to the 5000's were much more substantial than the 5000 to 6000 updates. The second digit is the class the GPU falls into. x9xx is very high end (some of these are dual GPU cards), x8xx is high end, x7xx is gamer but on a budget, and lower than that are budget GPUs for people who don't need a lot of 3d performance. The 3rd digit distinguishes between GPUs in that class - so a 5770 is faster than a 5750 but not as good as a 5830. The 5600, 5700, 6600, 6700 ones are excellent for budget conscious business use and pretty good but not for hardcore gaming home use. These all have the advantage of much lower power consumption than most other GPUs out there, so you use less electricity and less cooling, which makes them quiet. My home PC has a 5750. It holds it's own in Max, actually. Remember that the newer GPUs are crazy fast - the 5750 is at a modest price point now but it's as good as a Geforce 8800 or 9800 series, which was high end and high power consumption not that long ago.
