AveryBibeau
Hi this is my first post here, I'm just getting started with Vray 2.0 in Maya and have some questions about rendering interiors. I attached a file with my current progress but the image as a whole seems too white, the sun is at ~3:00 PM and it seems like all of the light from it is white. How can I get some more color into my renders with the Vray sun? Also, my shadows on the far right wall seem a bit harsh since they're kind of far from the skylights (my scene's scale is correct). I don't have any glass on the door/skylights yet but could adding a thick frosted glass to the skylights help with the harsh shadows from them? I put a Vray_Rect_Light with Skylight Portal turned on and increased each of their U and V sizes to fit each skylight window and the door, do I need this many and how will they benefit my scene with this many windows? AubreyM
Keep in mind that textures will affect the lighting. As for the Vray sun here is a link that explains all the options for the Vray sun. It should answer all your questions. Don't use frosted glass to control shadows. http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/examples_vraysun_sky.htm And yes a skylight portal is a good idea in all the windows. Thanks for the link, I managed to get some more yellow values into my scene but my direct sunlight still seems kind of dull.
