alanmac
Can anybody who has Vectorworks and Cinema combination tell me if they have the revised plug in for exporting files from VW to C4D, does it work okay. More importantly, if you where a user of the first version how much did you pay for the second. I have heard it was free update in the US but Maxon UK want to charge £39. Thank you Alan
Ace_Face
The plugin is not free in the US for either the Vectorworks or Archicad plugin. I don't own either at this point, so I can't tell you if they are worth the price or not. If you purchase a C4D upgrade I think they might offer the plugin for free, but you would have to ask. alanmac
Sorry Tom I don't think my email on reflection was very clear. I purchased C4D for Vectorworks when it first came out. It's the basic Cinema 4D version 8.1 with two additional CD's in the box, one of which contains the plug in. Version 2 of this plug has now been released, to address some missing functions in the first plug in and to add some others. Maxon UK wants to charge for this updated plug in, but I read somewhere on a post from somebody that this was a free upgrade from V1 to V2 in the US. With the current discontentment over on CGtalk regarding upgrade pricing I was trying to ascertain what the situation is with price worldwide on this plug in for existing V1 owners. Ace_Face
Hmmm... Sounds like the upgrade should be free if it fixes problems. I don't know anything further to confirm what you have already heard.
