Hello all

 

I'm looking at purchasing a new system. I plan to purchase a workstation, a couple render nodes, and a laptop. The laptop would not need to be a mobile workstation, more for marketing.

 

I'll be using Revit for Architectural modeling, 3DS Max for 3D modeling, animation and rendering (Mental Ray / Iray) and Adobe products for post.

 

I pretty much know what I want as far as component specifications, and my budget is a little flexible. I've looked at the following companies for pricing, but it seems to be pretty varied. Here's the companies I've looked at:

 

Boxx Tech

Dell

Alienware (Dell)

ibuypower

Cyberpower

Digital Storm

Maingear

Origin

V3

 

I'm also considering the lease option from Boxx. Has anyone had experience with that program? Good? Bad?

 

Any other Companies you think I should look at?

 

Since I'm going it solo, I'm concerned about quality of build / product, and customer service. Anyone want to offer up some feedback on the above companies?

 

To Keep it easy use a scale of 1 to 10, 1 = pathetic, 10 = superior:

How is their build quality?

How is the quality of their components?

How is their customer service?

How is their response / turn around time on fixes?
