Sketchrender
Looks great. I am sure as always a lot of work went into it. Not flash obviously , but what Is it built with? Looking forward to it , any idea of a launch date ?
Jeff Mottle
It's built from scratch on PHP, there's nothing off the shelf being used. No Flash for sure. Months ago we considered a few CMS systems, but came to the conclusion, that we'd just be fighting against them. The developers I have working on it are building a new platform designed specifically for CGA. Right now I'd say we're looking sometime mid to end of October for launch, but it's a bit hard to predict at the moment. Much of the last 2 months has been spent just designing the core platform to run the site. Their only just now starting on the front end stuff which is where it gets exciting as there will be stuff to see and show.
Sketchrender
Well looks great. A request if I may. The Group section can a notification script be added. As new posts and answers stay there for days and nobody knows anything about them. Thank you Phil
Jeff Mottle
Aside from some "look & feel" changes to the forums, that is one part of the site that will not be changed much. The forum is an off the shelf product so I don't have a lot of control of specific functionality like that. Depending upon demand, that might be able to be added in a v2.1 of the main site as we'll be adding a lot more robust profiles for people to upload videos, images etc. I was not even aware anyone was even using the Groups section of the forums and I was even just going to disable this part for the re-launch
bazooka
Hey jeff, Looks promising I would really love to see more interaction between the website and the cg awards, as it felt before that both comes from different things but it would be nice to blend that inside the website as well, giving people more ease to access that, checking previous winners, nominees, as well as thier personal pages inside cg architect. Anyway great work. Looking forward for CGA2
