alfienoakes
Cheers Andrew, Good to have a second set of eyes.. I didn't even notice it was a 2700 over the 2600.. Looks like a goer then. Many thanks..
Joel Gray
Andrew, I'm considering a new computer and building one from your list is intriguing me. My problem is that I'm almost exclusively rendering with the CPU, so I like the idea of lots of cores and RAM but I may eventually evolve to GPU rendering. Would it make sense to build up one of your CUDA GPU machines without all the graphics cards and expect that I'll have decent CPU rendering, but still have the opportunity to develop the machine into a GPU powerhouse later on (or as funds become available to buy GPU cards)? Or would doing something like that really muck up the configuration and lead to overheating issues (or worse)? Thanks for your help and for generating these lists. It certainly helps people like me that aren't following hardware development on a regular basis. Joel
