Tommy L
My DR just went flaky and is missing maps. Network is fine, every node can see the server. But DR cant find maps. I just sent a strip render to see if the farm has issues but it appears to be fine. Any ideas? Any one else had problems with any recent windows updates or anything? Nodes XP64 and servers/workstations are W7 Ultimate. VRay 1.5 sp5 I think.
neil poppleton
Only time I have that issue is if I forget to use the full UNC route and it has a mapped drive letter, which often doesnt pick up the map.
Tommy L
yes thats my first thing I check. The error message clearly says missing maps (if I check the missing maps notification in the render panel) and I can see that the problem is that it picks up no maps when it renders. But the Asset browser and the bitmap/photometric path editor both find all the maps and have UNC mapped paths. Weird.
neil poppleton
Very weir Tom, not heard that before. Maybe a fresh re-boot of everything might just do the trick, it often does......
Tommy L
Must be a windows thing. I moved the maps to a different folder, redirected the paths and everything works fine. Still on the same drive with the same UNC prefixes so I dont know the cause of the problem. Wasted a good three hours of my day tho...
neil poppleton
Maybe a security / permission thing on the folder..... These things come to test us all... Glad its working.
