zhopudey
Just upgraded all our workstations and render nodes to 2012, and BB server is not able to connect to manager I found some threads on Area forums about this, but there was no conclusive solution. emersharif
Does your manager got the lastest backburner (the one with max 2012)?? If all your computer got the lastest backburner, only max 2012 can work with it... Older versions of max are not compatible! Best, M.

Best, M. 3ds Max/Design 2011, 2010, & 2009 versions of Max ARE compatible with BB2012. You need to install the last hotfix or service pack for each. More information is included in the Readme for each of these.

Devin Johnston
I had similar problems with 2012 and Autodesk told me that the 2012 build of Backburner did not work properly and they recommended I install a previous build to fix the problem. I was grateful for the information (he says sarcastically) after I'd already set up a 90 node render farm with their useless software. On top of that earlier this year Autodesk announced they will no longer spend any resources improving backburner. You can interpret this as them giving you the middle finger and telling you to go find a third party option which I did. Can you tell I'm pi$$ed!
