Hello there, we are from San Franciso. We also entered this competition. Since we all found out it is a fake competition, why don't we make it positive. I think we should setup a facebook account for all the entries to post their works. I know we all spent lots of days and nights to work on it and tried to make it perfect. No matter if we are students or professionals, designers or individuals, we all are work hard to try make a better world. We should share this globally because professionals and students are joining this from all over the world. Let's make it big! I can setup a facebook account and start sharing. Everyone, any firm or any school that has worked on this should receive credits. Let's share it on facebook! Or maybe we can even let the public to vote for the entries they like.

Tree houses are obviously a common idea shared among designers.............

For us older patrons, .....we probably watched the Disney movie classic.. "The Swiss Family Robinson", one too many times

It is apparent that the contest is bust.........still doesn't hurt to build your own.

Maybe there was a thread on tree house design. But, I decided just to post a thought here.

Assuming the contest is bogus, I have departed from the theme of a palm oassis. Being of northern/eastern European decent......my instinct tells me to build my tree house in a old growth Redwood, Pine, and/or Fir forest.

I've been playing with the idea as a work in progress of using steel tower/pole utiliy to simulate a tree with roof/walls in the shape of a branch/foliage cluster. The tower would blend in with the existing old growth forest without having to worry about the tree growing, dying,.....etc.

I suppose there would be some fire resistance depending on how far from the nearest trees the pole was set?.

Realistically, there are host of problems. Cost of peir/pile foundation and steel structure per square footage, high wind load, I dont think I would be in the house during a forest fire, Insulation/heating and cooling. Safety railing and access (ladder needs a safety cage, with fall breaks)(not a home for small children).

Marketable client, maybe a cell phone provider? Problem.....high microwave reciever/antenna radiation. Forest services or environmental audubon..ish group.

Materials are timber, green tile/prefab steel roofing, and copper cladding/patina. Hansel and Gretel windows trim. For higher fire resistivity, aluminum or steel frame...non high temperature combustable composite?

Again, this has been a fantasy work in progress......so the blank shapes are ....future construction
