OCT.studio
Hi, it seems an impossible task to export say a building from one scene and import it to another using export selected 3DS file? The model imports all over the place? I'm obviously doing something wrong? How do you import a model from one scene to another???
Tommy L
Xref. Then if you really want to you can merge the XRef permanently which basically merges. Export then impost is a rather primitive way of merging files. Chances are you have different unit systems and different 0,0 point.

Tommy L
XRef links the whole file. Once it is linked you can choose to exclude some items by category (lights/cameras). The other good thing is that you can turn it off (display), off (totally), display as box, update file, etc. BTW its not complicated. You just open the XRef Scene panel and choose a file. One thing to know is that if you want to scale/move the linked XRef in your scene you just create a Dummy object. Then go to the XRef panel again and hit Bind to object(?) and choose the Dummy. Then move or scale the Dummy and it moves the whole XRef n your scene. In arch-vis Xref scene is one of the most important tools you have for a streamlined workflow.
