xEndlessxUrbiax
This took me a little while to get used to as well. I'm not completely comfortable with the new materials editor yet but if you name all your materials and keep everything clean and organized it's gonna help a ton. The multi-materials are just a collection of materials that are assigned to one object. In principle, one object has one mutli-material with all the sub-materials attached to it. The problem comes when you have a sub-material being used in different objects and those red lines start connection all over the place. There is a button at the top that will automatically organize the entire materials web. I click on that a lot.
erkutacar
it shows the scene materials on the left.. why dont u just drag an instance of the one u need to edit instead of getting all materials from the scene.. i find slate material editor very easy to use.. much easier than compact for me..
