DaveRob
Ok, Here it is. I need to create a Field of Wheat. Its going to be in the fore ground to an animation and will be in the animation for the most part at some capacity. The animation is going to be rendered in HD and about 2 mins worth. Yeah, I know, large render times with this one. I want to be able to animate it with some wind blowing to give the animation a bit more life. Its for a client so I cant miss the deadline due to crazy render times. Whats the best looking option that will not kill my render times? The 3 ways I have done it in the past. VrayDisplacmentMod Vray Fur Vray Proxys Any Ideas? Thanks, Dave
BrianKitts
I'd probably try animated proxies built from onyxgrass http://www.onyxtree.com/grass.html
Flint
I'd use multiscatter. I did come across a nice tutorial doing what you want a long time ago but can't find it again. Think they used an animated noise(?) map in the rotation, but not 100% sure.
