Hey guys,

Im hoping to render my first 3d house, but, I cant get my glass right.

Its either to reflective or not reflective at all.

Its bugging the hell out of me and I can only find half tutorials about this.

Anyone of you guys knows a nice tutorial or something else, because if I google 'glass' I get tutorials for a wine glass, which is like 100% reflective, (looks more like chrome or something).

Regards.

To create a basic glass.

Diffuse Color - Black

Reflection Color - Grey (The darker the color the less reflection)

Reflection glossiness - 1.0

Fresnel reflections checked

Refract color - white

Refract Glossiness 1.0

IOR 1.2 -1.6

Affect Shadows - Checked

Max depth on Refract and Reflect - 5

These are just settings you can start with. You need to play with them to get the effect you want. You can also add a falloff map in the reflection slot.

Everyone does glass a little different.

Here is a link that shows examples of some of the settings. http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/examples_material.htm
