R.Stewart
I just built my new computer and I've got an i7 2600k with hyperthreading enabled yet I'm only seeing 4 buckets when I render. Sometimes 6 I think. I really want to know how I can get all 8 firing all of the time. I have hyperthreading enabled in the bios and my task manager is showing that there are 8 cores or threads being used at 100%. It's just that the computers at tafe have 8 buckets that are plain to see and I want that on my computer too. I'm guessing that it would decrease render time. I've found how to increase bucket size, I'm using 128x128 because I read that it was a good size. It's pretty big but not really rendering faster. Also when I have higher samples per pixel settings I only get 1 or 2 buckets. I've got it set at minimum 16 maximum 64. I want all 8 buckets!!! So I'd really like to get 8 buckets rendering and please share anything else to do with buckets that you think is important. I'm using Mental Ray windows 7 home premium Looking forward to hearing from anyone Richard P.S. I have really tried to find out as much as I can about this but haven't really found much.
