pailhead
I've been waiting for a node based material editor all my life. It makes me love life whenever i use it, except for a few minor quirks.... Say i need to copy a map into a displacement modifier, or a material into the override slot in vray, how do i do that? Seems to only be working in the other direction, as in, if you drag a map from displacement slot, you can copy it into slate. Same goes for material replacement, is it possible to just change the material node into something else? So far i can either revert to the old material editor, or reapply a material to objects. Victor Erthal
try dragging the map from slate, but grabbing it from the node dot on the right side. tat will create a line in slate and you can also drag that in other dialog boxes.
pailhead
Works like an absolute charm! Thanks! Any idea on how to replace a material? I guess you can do it by reverting to the old m editor.
Victor Erthal
yeah. i usually switch to the old material editor. cloning the material name into the new one works too, but there does not seem to be a button to simply put the material in the scene without having the right object selected. so, yeah... faster to quickly switch to the traditional material editor.
