hi,

can u all plz help me? i attached the scene here.

1. scene is generated using radiosity(standard light)

2. scene is generated using radiosity(photometric light)

3. scene is generated using radiosity(standard light)

my question is i am not happy with the result i got( scenes 1 & 2). and why the material apply for the cabinet at scene 1 look not realistic. i applied wood material with raytrace on it.

i love scene 3 although it's from standard light(omni) by radiosity. the wood material looked more better the previous two.

can u help me plz.

in my experience with radiosity (not much) the best results i can get was using photometrics and standars lights, photometrics as principal lights (sun, spotligths)

and standars as volume or global light.

always be careful with the exposure control affects alot the imageand global illumination.

i recomend use the two kind of lights.

Hi Acheng,

Just to let you know, the units of radiosity are set in the units dropdown under tools, I believe. Photometric lights use real world units where as standard lights do not. This could be the reason why the scene 1 and 3 are washed out. So double check your units and stick with photometric lights if you want to use radiosity.
