Brodie Geers
I've got a big animation I'm working on in 3ds Max w/ Vray where I'll need to scatter a bunch of flowers, bushes, trees, etc. What's the best method for that? I assume Vray proxies are what I'd want to be scattering, yes? And is there a particular method that works best or doesn't work with vray proxies - Scatter, PFlow, Object Paint? I think my preference would be to use Pflow for some areas and Object Paint for some more precise scattering but I wanted to make sure one way wasn't better or worse on RAM or speed for any reason. -Brodie
btee
I use the object paint feature in MAX all the time to paint proxy trees, cars, people into scenes. It works really well. If I have to paint forests or huge expanses of planting, then I've found the best plugin is Gugila Groundwiz. It is freaking amazing and well worth the small cost of purchasing it.
