renato
Hi all: I have this problem, I render a very simple interior scene(imported from a 3ds file) with mental ray, lighted with a simple spotlight through the opening, dark blue as background color, turn on G.I. and it looks ok. The problem comes when I turn Final gather on, the scene gets completely, washed out, toon-style like, I have tried to reduce the photon intensity, and tried to reduce the brightness of the background, but nothing happens. If I set the background to pure black, when I turn FG, the scene gets completely black, just with the direct illumination. Maybe it could be a material problem, but what parameter do I have to tweak to get correct results? I hope someone can tell me what is the problem. here are the results. The first is just the direct light. The second is just with the photons alone, and the third is Photons+FG
radioVOY
try lowering the FG parameters because looks ilike you have to high especs and to low your G.I. hope helps. btw where are you from?? (city)
renato
Thanksss a lot. I have solved this. It was a disabled switch in the geometry rendering parameters. It seems that the 3ds translator disable this option when importing. Thannx again P.S., Morelia, mich, saludos
