patwalker
Here a rendering I did of a cabin on the lake. I used Max 6.0 with light tracer. I'm looking at ways to beef up the image (in Max). Any and all suggestions are welcome. I also would like to hear what tree/bush/flower 3D packages people like. The trees and bushes in my image from RPC. Thanks. Crazy Homeless Guy
grass is to even of a shade, the bushes need mixed up, or raotated and scaled. i like the angle of the sun to the building, but look at how much contrast the trees have compared to the building. also the tree shadow casting on the house is whimpy. trhoads
Welcome to the forums. The image is a little small. Try to post a larger version, it will make it easier to see. I agree with CHG, the shadow across the roof is not good, it is very distracting. The roof seems too flat, and without texture. The glass is too dark and lifeless, maybe a little glare since the sun is shining directly on the windows, or even some faint reflections would be nice. Wouldn't there need to be another step at the door, looks like a bit of a climb to get in that door. The water in the backgorund looks really good to me, there is not a lot of it in view, but what I can see, I like.
patwalker
How do I get my images to upload with better quality? The image I see on the forum is very blurry compared to the real image.
trhoads
What size are you rendering, and what file type. If it is a .jpeg, a file compression setting of 7 or 8 will usually let a 640x480 image get under the maximum file size for uploading images. The blurriness could be the result of reducing the original down to a very small size, they tend to loose their crispness that way. hope that helps. patwalker
Strangely enough, I switched from using Photoshop 5.0 to using Photoshop CS to create the same jpg (from a tga) and that worked.
Harjeet Singh
may be it is only me but the first thing i felt is the scale of the cabin is somehow missing/wrong. It is perhaps the trees behind, which gave me this feel. regards Harjeet Singh

I think that there is to much reflection on the decking unless you intended it to look like a gloss finish wich would not be to clever as you are next to a lake. Very good render but the Cabin chould be a mat finish but thats my opinion.
