Devin Johnston
I'm trying to map a rectangular map of some tile onto a curving walkway and I want the joint lines to follow the curve, can I do this with a UVW map?
Victor Erthal
you can use the unwrap uvw modifier. apply the modifier and go to sub-object mode and select all the faces (keep in ming this modifier has the "ignore back facing" by default. then click on "spline". a dialog will pop up and then you click on "pick spline". if the surface you are working on is sorta flat, you might want to change the mapping to planar. play around with the scale of the gizmo and etc. once you are satisfied with the result, click on "commit" one important note: depending on the kind of surface you are mapping, you might need to subdivide it a bit so that the spline unwrapping has enough samples to create a smooth curve. hope this helps.
