Error creating output file - After installing PSD manager 3

Hi guys,

Recently have been getting this error regularly and the only difference that I can understand is that I've installed psd manager v3.

My setup of the scene is the same - Render elements with Ambient Occlusion, vray render setup at whatever resolution is required and Max 2012.

Is anybody else getting this error?

What I find is that when I turn off Render elements - the error goes away?

Look forward to your thoughts,

Is this an error message from 3ds max or psd-manager (check the error message window title bar)? Please post the complete message. Tip: You can usually use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C to copy the contents of an error mesage dialog.

Could it be that one of your render output filenames is not setup properly?

Try setting your main 3ds max render output path to something else, so that all your render elements paths are also updated automatically in turn.

If psd-manager is not used in the scene, then psd-manager has nothing to do with it. If psd-manager is used in the scene try deavtivating the effect and see if you still get the error message.

Hi Daniel,

I actually read your post on the cebas forum that soon there will be an update to psd manager 3 which will work with the Vray VFB and the render elements.

I worked out my error situation - I deleted the previously saved AO pass in the elements and then created a new one with a different map. And now it's working - so maybe it was because previously it was working with psd manager 2.

In any case it was definitely the combination of psd manager and elements - because the render worked quite happily if either was turned off.

Look forward to the psd 3 update and thanks for your reply here.

I would like to have a look at the scene that shows that error if possible. Please send it to:

mail(at)daniel-schmidt.biz

if you still have it around. (You can delete all objects if it still produces the error then.)

Thank you,

Daniel Schmidt
