vr-tour software for free?

hi all!

 

I want to be able to create VR-tours of my 3DMAX-models. (by vr-tour I mean, like the Quicktime VR cubic-mapped movies)

 

The problem is I dont know what software to use...

 

I want to make the final tour into an .exe-file, so I can show it on any computer.

It must be able to combine several different shots with hotspots.

AND... it must be free... Im totally broke

 

so, if anyone knows of a good and free program for this, please let me know.

its free and opensource and is very good software. - your users will need a java vm installed.

 

and you will need to spend a little time experimenting with how you generate your renders and how to use the sticher software to produce the necessary images. but it should get you up and running.

Ive tried that program, but for some reason it doesnt work at all for me. I use the usual scanline renderer so it shouldnt be any problems, but I still get some weird error-messages.

 

However. I found a script called CubicVR which renders 6 images (front, back, sides, up, down). It then uses a program called GoCubic to stitch the images together to a .mov file.

It does the job perfectly, so for single-node MOVs its excellent.

 

Now my only problem is to connect several MOVs to make VR-scenes.

Ive tried a few demo versions of programs, which work beautifuly, but they´re around 400 bux... so...

 

Do you know of any free software that can do this?

AND save the finished scene to an .exe? (or am I just being unrealistic here? should I wait until I have the cash and then buy some proffessional software?)
